Champagne Margaritas!

March 17, 2019

I love Champagne, and I love Margaritas. When I saw a post combining the two I couldn’t click on it fast enough! Needless to say, I conjured up a reason to test them out very shortly after.

Champagne Margaritas, Cocktail Ideas

My heart was right: Champagne + Margarita = Match made in heaven!

I found the recipe on Delish. I didn’t know about Delish until their ads started popping up on my Facebook feed. They always caught my attention for making really delicious recipes look easy (something that is very attractive to my no-cooking-skills-self). I started following them and pinning almost all of the recipes they post because of how easy and no-fuss they are.

When I found out they were coming out with a cook book I got extremely excited – finally a cook book I could follow. Few ingredients, few steps, great outcomes. Plus they have fun cocktail recipes as well!

“Eat Like Every Day Is The Weekend!”

I will link their cookbook here for you: Delish: Eat Like Every Day’s the Weekend

Anyways, enough about that and more about why we are here: CHAMPAGNE MARGARITAS!

INGREDIENTS

1/2 c. fresh lime juice

1 c. silver tequila

1/2 c. orange liquer

1 bottle champagne (about 3 cups)

lime wedges, for rim

salt, for rim

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir well.
  2. Run lime wedges around the rim of each champagne flute and dip the rims in coarse salt.
  3. Divide margaritas between flutes and garnish with lime wedges.

Tip: Champagne can only be called champagne if it is from the region of Champagne, France. Therefore not all sparking wine or “bubbly” is actually champagne.

An Unknowingly Delicious Combination!

They don’t suggest what kind of tequila to use in the recipe (in the video they show Patron) so I used Patron Silver. Seeing as how they suggest champagne, I wasn’t about to mix a beautiful bottle of Moet Chandon with Jose Cuervo. Patron seemed more fitting.

However, I will tell you that I have tried this recipe with Jose Cuervo and a bottle of Yellow Tail sparking wine and this recipe was still delicious. 🙂

I have included the original Delish video below. If you weren’t sold on the recipe yet – you will be after you watch this video.

You have lots of time to perfect this recipe before Cinco De Mayo 😉
